Learn about NFSTAC and Share Your Input!
We are pleased to announce the launch of the new SAMHSA-funded National Family Support Technical Assistance Center (NFSTAC). The NFSTAC will serve families whose children experience mental health and substance use challenges across the lifespan by providing resources, technical assistance and training to the workforce, organizations and communities that support them. This includes mental health and substance use information and lifespan resources, training for families and the mental health and substance use workforce, expanded development of the
Family Peer Specialist workforce and technical assistance for organizations.
Our work is driven by families - who are the experts in the care of their loved ones - and providers who are familiar with families' needs and the challenges they face. In January, we hosted several Meet and Greet sessions to introduce the community to our technical assistance center and our team of partners and to share how the NFSTAC plans to serve families and the providers and organizations that support them. Participants received a follow up survey to share their ideas about how the NFSTAC can best support families who have children - of any age - that experience
mental health and/or substance use challenges during their lifetime.
